Ok, this is funny in parts and obvious in others but I wanted to share the search terms that got people to Venom’s blog, it’s quite interesting:

Just received a note from that prolific and ever energetic promoter of EVE and the Blogging Community, CrazyKinux, Venom of Hellcats has been added to the site.  The post that talks about the new blogs added is here and the complete list is here.  Just about all aspects of our beloved game is covered in the blood, sweat, and tears of my fellow bloggers.  I just hope my piracy wasn’t the cause of any of those tears, wait, yes I do!

Space has been busy, very busy, the way we like it.  Our normal patrol space has been full of gangs challenging us or simply running away when they see us.  You see, us Hellcats and Bastards have a nice force and patrol group during a certain North American time zone, mostly we are feared and gangs bigger than us will dock up or hide.  This I don’t get but so long as we are causing a disruption, our space will stay clean.   We are Pirates, we own our space.

This entry is the story of a new ship, a ship given to me by a dear friend Sard Caid; a Jaguar with battle scars and pod goo from past kills.  Sard delivered the gift to me at my home station in Evati, the ship was named “Love and Rockets”, I contemplated keeping the name for the luck aspect but eventually decided it needed a blend and I settled on renaming this beauty “Love and Tarts”.  This baby is full of luck and mojo as you will see, a welcome addition to the hangar, even the crew enjoys the energy off this sleek beauty.

This evening the intention was to make some hauling runs for much needed supplies, that was cut very short by the usual crew causing havoc across space.  Being low on supplies and ships, I slid my pod into “Love and Tarts”, flicked on the computer systems, and set a course for my fellow pirates already engaged in space.

Upon jumping into Siseide and joining the gang, we found an interesting group of ships in a belt, a brutix, tristan, and vexor; as well as few others who ran before we could sink our teeth into them.  We had with us new Hellcats recruits, making the kills very exciting, as well, under the leadership of Nova Blackadder, we were a force.

We moved on to Egghelende, where upon scanning a rupture down and sitting at a planet (shaking my milkshake), the rupture we were looking for descended upon me.  Oh rupture, I’m sorry, didn’t you see my friend Nova sitting 20k from me cloaked in a rapier?  Too bad for you.  Although, as I pointed you and unleashed all I could from this beautiful new friend the Jaguar, I held on until all my friends could arrive.  Then I held on some more, in fact, I started popping your drones and giving you a very bad day.  No please, stay right there, don’t move, here they come.  ”Pop” went your drone.  Now all my friends are here, you have my shields down and my armor, as you get me to 50% structure, I move away very very fast.  I’m out of your range now, your a distant speck on my HUD, you got me to 16% hull but now I’m sitting in my safe spot as you are introduced to the cold void of space.  Yes, I could have parted ways sooner, saved some isk in repairs but this ship wanted to see you Pop.  This ship has the killer MoJo and now I know she has the staying power to take punishment.  All-in-all you put up a good fight, thank you for the fun.

We made our way back to Evati and it was time to catch up on paperwork and move gear across New Eden to stock my low supplies.

Some time later, a call comes out across the alliance channel.  The Nato Indi’s guys were out in Las, they have recently moved there and have proclaimed to take over.  Our job is to relieve them of their ships and gear until they decide this isn’t the home for them.

Phobos and Zealot were out, as well as a few other of their clan.  We lost a few interceptors and a cruiser in the fight but we took their Phobos as well as their Brutix.  We raided their wrecks, destroyed their mining cans (yes, they were mining with a hulk, this is what started the whole thing), we caused damage and mayhem.

Waiting out my GCC in a newly fit stabber (I was gearing her up when the call came out, or I might have been in the Jag), I checked messages.  I noticed a corp mail I missed before, from Mynxee.  Mynx writes, asking if I would accept the honor of becoming a Hellcats Director.  I gladly accepted, full of excitement, the honor of serving Mynxee and my corp mates pleases me.  Time to celebrate I’d say, off to the Hellcats bar at base, if I don’t wake up early, don’t knock, it’s a hangover.

I awoke from a long nap and had intentions of logging the previous nights events, there were many, when I poured a cup of Gallente Espresso and opened the news headlines. I wished I could have explained before it hit the news wires but here it is:

Cruiser Class Ship Lost In Hofjalgund; Due to Rare Space Blindness

April 24 – Evati – Associated Solar News (ASN)
Sources report that at 03:53 ET (EVE Time) last night, April 24th, the infamous pirate Venom Orchid (Member of the Hellcats) was shot down in Hofjalgund while attempting to gain control of several other cruiser class ships. Venom Orchid was in fleet with fellow pirates at the time of the accident; Nova Blackadder of The Bastards (Alliance Member), Ard Unjiigo of The Bastards (Alliance Member), Mynxee of the Hellcats (Hellcats CEO), and Ravenessa (School of Applied Knowledge Student & Bastards Recruit) were with Venom at the time. According to ship logs and flight recorders, Venom’s Rupture (Cruiser class ship) went into structure and did not survive the onslaught of drones and beam lasers. The recorders also show that although most of the damage was done by the fleets pirating targets, the final blow that destroyed Venom’s cruiser was friendly fire from her fleet mate Ravenessa.

Audio channel recordings of the last few minutes are as follows:
Venom: I have the Rupture pointed, firing, need assistance
Ravenessa: I have point and firing
Nova: Focus fire on the Rupture
Ard: Everyone focus fire
Venom: I’m going down, I’m in structure, webbed and pointed, I can’t get out
Venom: I’m in my pod, I’m out
Ard: All fire focused on the Rupture, why isn’t this guy going down, are we all on the Rupture?
Ravenessa: Yes
Nova: Yes
10 Minutes Later
Venom: Guys I posted my loss…..WTF, Raven, you shot me, you got my final blow!!!
Ravenessa: WHAT?!?
Nova: Oh man, you shot the wrong Rupture
Ravenessa: In my defense, they all look alike

The battle was eventually won by Venom’s fleet mates. No comments were able to be attained from any of the fleet members yet an expert on space travel, Professor Sun Twon, from the School of Applied Knowledge had this to say: “Events such as this occur from time to time, we speculate that the use of implants, more specifically the reintroduction of implants to a newly created clone vat, can have side effects we call ‘Space Blindness’. We do not know the root cause but it appears to be a sickness that often occurs after the vat process and affects the interface of a pod and it’s ship’s scanners, placing any friendly targets in the display next to any hostile targets. Of course I don’t have to tell you that this can lead to mistaking a friendly for a foe, resulting possibly in what happened to that filthy pirate Venom Orchid”. Further speculation says that Ravenessa might have just had a common flu or just simply shot the wrong target.

So there you have it, the press is faster than I am. Before I could say anything, there it was all over the news. Accidents happen, I only hope an investigation doesn’t ensue, stuff just happens in space. Mental note, talk to Raven before this gets out of hand.

As I was sipping the last of my espresso, my corp channel lit up. “Venom, I need a full report on that accident last night before you leave station today – Mynxee”. Oh man, too late, I gotta get this resolved before it goes to far.

“Oh btw, when Raven gets accepted into The Bastards, we suggested he get a medal, something like “Kicks Them When They Are Down” or something like that oh and don’t be surprised to hear a new saying in the lounge: ‘Come on man, don’t pull a Ravenessa’. haha, them’s the breaks kid, at least Raven kept the enemy from getting your kill. Come down and join us or a drink, we are all just sitting here laughing about the event, nevermind on the report, just freaking you out.” was Mynxee’s last msg.

With the amount of targets in the last week it’s been hard to update daily the events of the various roams, many kills and many losses on my part; saying it’s been a busy week is an understatement.

Venom

The last few nights our patrols have been very productive, flying with Nova Blackadder as FC and various Hellcats, Bastards, and new Bastards Recruits.

The rest of the night is spent looking for other’s who set traps or coming across the Sleipnir/Demiso/Hurricane group. Although I wish the whole fleet had gotten a kill or two, I’m pleased the frig portion of our fleet could stomp a few skulls.

What is it about Amamake that strikes fear in the blackest of hearts? When asking roam direction, many an FC will call out a surrounding system, as not to scare the herd.

Let us all get down to the base level and deal with this fear.

I’m the youngest of my other sisters, Rouge Orchid and LaBoheme Orchid, with that I fly less ships in size than they do. Which is fine, I like the small and agile, my original plans were to be the best small ship pointer I could. I’m getting there I think, more often than not I’m on the scene with a point in my beloved rifter “Tart” or my newer Jaguar “Spank”. In keeping with the plan I thought I’d move to a Stiletto but after seeing my sister LaBoheme fly an Ares and Taranis, I don’t know if a Stiletto would be good as the Ares and Taranis are such amazing ships. Honestly, I love to point, I love the speed but from time to time The Bastards are roaming with larger ships and need more DPS and not points. I’m feeling like I want more of this, maybe I want the option to add more DPS in such instances.
